The Vessel as a Metaphor

Variations by Farangis Yegane

People metaphorically seen as vessels, which are filled into and emptying themselves. Vessels that offer protection or are restricting. Commonplace is the idea of the female body as the vessel of a conceived, growing life. The notion of the man being shown as a receiving vessel is probably rather unknown. When we are talking about tendencies or trends in thought, a pouring out of and a pouring into the human as a vessel is also taking place. Our schools and our universities are places of out-pouring and in-filling. The age in someone's life, is also the sum of the in-filled and outpoured mind and spirit.
